Back by popular demand! We are again providing Résumé Review and Career Coaching at the Winter Conference. Conference attendees will be able to schedule 15-minute sessions with a seasoned development professional to sharpen their skills, gain tools and insights, and learn what to do and not to do when preparing for an interview in the development field. Please come prepared with a copy of your résumé to obtain valuable advice during conference breaks.

Feedback shows that conference attendees want more time designated to making meaningful connections with peers while discussing and addressing issues they are currently facing in their organizations. As a result, NDOA has decided to turn the session immediately preceding lunch into a time for facilitated networking.
There will be five topics and attendees will self select what they'd like to attend. Attendees will write questions or topics they’d like to discuss on cards when they arrive at the session. Volunteers will collect the cards and group the topics. While this is happening, the facilitator will provide a brief introduction to the session topic, describing its relevance or importance in fundraising.
The topic groups will be presented and the facilitator or volunteer will share the primary questions from the grouped topics, and invite feedback and responses from the audience. Facilitators will keep the conversation going through probing questions and ensuring attendees have the opportunity to speak about their experiences and receive feedback and best practices. The sessions are designed for the group participants to learn from each other.
Depending on the number of conference attendees, the groups might need to further breakdown to 10-15, with each group covering one of the themes that emerge from the question cards that are submitted by participants. In this case, there will be additional volunteers there to help facilitate, and the lead will move around to spend time with each group.
In scheduling these sessions immediately prior to lunch, the hope is that conversations can continue during lunch.
